ALFREDO ZARATE, MD
President/CEO & Founder
The founder has over 40 years of experience in the field of medicine as a practitioner, researcher, operator of dialysis clinics, and in startups. He practiced nephrology in Washington, D.C, developed and operated as CEO two dialysis clinics which were merged with Vivra Inc. a NYSE company that was acquired by Gambro from Sweden.
He has raised about US$1.5 Million in several SBIR Grants from the National Institute of Health (NIH), invented two devices for hemodialysis, made an important discovery in the hemodialysis field and is the author of several patents. He is a former clinical assistant professor at Georgetown University, clinical associate professor at George Washington University, consultant in clinical nephrology at the NIH Medical Center, and member of grant review panels at NIDDK/NIH and a retired patient care nephrologist. He received a medical degree from the University of Litoral, Argentina, and training at Brown University, in R.I., the Mayo Clinic Rochester, MN, Georgetown University, Washington DC, and the NIH, Bethesda, Maryland.
